FabFitFun sent along a card with product info and listed retail values for each of the included items.

Let's see what is inside!

Salt + Stone Stick SPF50, 15 g - Retail Value $18.00

Praise be! A sunscreen that my husband might actually use! This small container houses a slightly tinted sunscreen stick that goes on feather-light and leaves no shiny or greasy finish. It is pretty small but should last a good long while, and that petite size makes it perfect for a pocket or work bag. It has a barely there masculine scent and though it does have a tint, it went on my skin totally clear.

Grown Alchemist Hydra-Repair Day Cream, 2.19 fl oz - Retail Value $49.00

This is a product that was featured on GOOP, and if its good enough for Gwyneth, its good enough for me. I say 'me' because I am stealing this out of the box before my husband even notices. You might call me selfish, but you haven't smelled how lovely this cream is! It has an irresistible botanical fragrance that Will likely wouldn't be as into anyways and my face was so calm and smooth after trying this. It is a perfect day cream for my foundation free face. Sorry, not sorry!

PX Clothing Wallet - Retail Value $40.00

This was the one item in the box that I really didn't like. I tend to avoid pleather and would much rather have had a textile option sent if this box was set on avoiding real leather. It might have been nice to see some sort of heavy duck canvas option instead. It just felt kind of flimsy and inexpensive. Visually, I will admit that it could pass for leather, but the second you touch it you absolutely know it is faux.

Fatboy Sea Salt Pomade, 2.6 oz - Retail Value $21.00

Will loves pomades and he has naturally wavy hair. I was really excited to have him test out this sea salt pomade, especially since I love salt texturizers in my own hair. This stuff smells pretty incredible, beachy but not in a coconut, sunscreen way, but more in a fresh water, salt, greens sort of way. The finish is flexible and matte. Will found it easy to use and remarked that he liked the tousled look it gave his hair.

Rebels Refinery Pre Shave Oil, 30 ml – Retail Value $18.00

Another great smelling item! This oil can be used in a few different ways. The most obvious is as beard oil, to keep those coarse hairs conditioned and looking healthy. Will isn't allowed to have facial hair at his job (which is a CRIME I tell you!) so he tried it out as a preshave oil on his face. He reported that it gave him a much closer shave and that his skin was less irritated when he finished. With jojoba oil and vitamin E, this formula is super soft on skin while still looking badass. I also borrowed a little to try on my dry hair and it worked like a charm to smooth flyaways and frizz.

Brouk & Co. The Lighter Fix-It Set – Retail Value $39.99 (currently sold out)

This is Will's sort of gadget. He loved multi-tools and has them stashed all over the house. He especially loves any sort of flashlight or lantern, and although our power has only gone out once in the last 6 years, we were more than prepared. Our house was essentially a beacon in the dark! He was pretty happy to add this new toy to his arsenal. If you combined a flashlight and a swiss army knife into one tool, you would have this gadget. One end is a moderately bright light and the other is a combo of scissors, saw blade, screwdriver, fish scaler (?!), bottle opener, and a file. It came with 3 AAA batteries.

Pilot Men's Complete Castille Soap, 8 fl oz – Retail Value $17.95

Multi-use items speak to Will's simple style, so this soap was another winner. You can use it as hand soap, dish soap, shampoo, body wash, anything really. It has a soft peppermint scent that is refreshing and not overwhelming.

Sempli IPA Beer Glass – Estimated Value $27.50 (buy two for $55.00)

This glass is really pretty but SO thin! We have a porcelain sink so I fear for its longevity it is ever set in there without a super gentle hand. The geometric shape is as functional as it is beautiful: the cut of the bottom is meant to enhance the effervescence of your fave IPA. My husband brews beer and I think he might have an IPA in the works, so this will be really fun to try.

Verdict: This box has a retail value of $231.44, which is an excellent value for a $49.99 box. Will seemed to enjoy every item inside, though he agreed that the wallet was lackluster. Will is the type of guy who never really treats himself or buys skincare items, so it felt extra nice to share these items with him and see him enjoy them so much. I (may) have convinced him to start using the sunscreen, and he already has added the pomade and oil to his grooming rotation. The soap was another hit, as well as the multi-tool, which he has decided to stash in his truck. I still hold the expensive day cream hostage, but I feel like that is a fair tradeoff! This box would be great for a special guy in your life and would also make a great box to keep handy for little gifts here and there, especially for those hard to shop for men in your life.

To Wrap Up:

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I’ve really been enjoying your reviews lately, Megan. Honest, not overly gushing, and totally relatable. Also, I would love good beer glasses in the regular FFF box. Not hating on the pink wine glasses from the Summer box, but everything doesn’t HAVE to be so stereotypically feminine.

Rachel

I feel like a man should review this box.

Hey Rachel! I appreciate the feedback. Sometimes a more guy-oriented box comes across my desk for review and I will always do my best to get Will’s opinion after he himself tries the item. I think it’s very important too! Since he doesn’t know much about many products in terms of ingredients or brands, I try to give a little extra info or background when I can. He is also a super minimalist in general and would rather be outside than in a mud mask, but luckily he is a great guy and is (almost) always willing to help. Thanks for taking the time to read!

A man did review it pretty much. Yes Megan tested/gave opinions on some items too, but her husband tested the products as well as giving feedback. The only difference is that Megan typed it up. And I could be wrong but it sounds like Will is a “man’s man”, you know, higher up on the tough/masculine scale. I definitely don’t get a metrosexual vibe from the comments in her reviews so I feel the review was done correctly and informatively using feedback from an average (not in a bad way 😄) male who tested the products and shared his thoughts and opinions.

As always Megan, I appreciate another one of your thorough, objective, and entertaining reviews!

Thanks Dani! Will is totally not a product type of guy so asking his opinion is really interesting to me, someone who loves products! I always try to get his input on guy-oriented boxes because we come at it from such different angles. Glad you enjoyed and thanks for reading!

I completely agree! Also wondering wtf fff was thinking putting the GA day cream in a men’s box, it smells like a flower garden.

If something is delicate I place it on the side of the sink not in the sink. Same for cups with writing on them. Haven’t had anything break yet in my sink.

I wish FFF would cool it with the pleather. Calling it vegan Leather doesn’t make it a better product, it’s still plastic crap.

Reply ButtonReply

TK

Completely agree!! Can’t stand “vegan leather”. I realize leather offends some people but there are other materials to use instead of ugly plastic trying to look like leather.

Reply ButtonReply

Amber

I agree. I am so tired of hearing “vegan leather.” There is no such thing. It’s just junk.

Stephanie

This!

This is amazing. I would have bought this right now if available. We’d use everything except the wallet. I agree, I detest plastic, fake leather. And my husband works for Vans and they make cool wallets which he uses.

Reply ButtonReply

Nina

I love Vans!! I’d be begging him to bring home swag every day! 😂

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

I dunno. The wallet and tool look like standard FFF junk quality and the rest is beauty. I don’t know any men who would want this.

Reply ButtonReply

Bee

I agree that it has limited appeal and questionable quality.

Nina

Ya, same here. Mine would probably like the glass but it’s be better if they came as a set. I hate having random and miscellaneous glasses cluttering up the cupboards.. and I already push all the extra beauty/skincare stuff I get in my gazillion sub boxes on my man.. so he definitely doesn’t need that… and it would just take up shelf space I need anyway!! 😂

Mariek

If this became a season thing that would be awesome!! I know a lot of family members that would love this!!!!

carol

Agreed! I’m sorry that it was just an add-on instead of being available as a one-time, or its own sub.
Maybe it’s meant to judge how much interest there would be in one like this. Well – I’m interested!
