Pet Treater Cat Pack October 2019 Review
I sometimes find the dog version of Pet Treater a little bit random but the cat version (maybe because it is smaller) is often a little more focused:
There’s not a traditional information card with this subscription, but you get a couple of inserts including a humorous sticker. Sometimes there is also product literature although this month there wasn’t.
Vital Cat Freeze Dried Chicken Breast (1 oz) - Retail Value $6.99 (found here for $5.22)
This is what the bag says, freeze-dried chicken breast. Sneaky and Madison liked it but Monkey wouldn't touch it. That is not so unusual (plus I think Monkey was working on a hairball). Freeze-dried meat does show up in this box regularly, so keep that in mind. It's kind of hit or miss for my cats although this one does seem to be of high quality.
Petlinks Blinking Bat - Retail Value $9.75
This has a little tab you can pull out so the battery can make contact and then its stomach lights up blue, which my cats didn't seem to care about. This is somewhat on the large side for a cat toy, perhaps more of a kicker/wrestler style? Madison liked the feathers and Angus seemed to be afraid of it.
Bat Wings
I am all about cat costumes. My cats are probably not. I got this on three of them (didn't try with Angus but he is obese and it probably wouldn't have fit him anyway and yes, we are working on his weight). You can see photos below. This didn't have any kind of label or tag.
Pet Zone Snag-ables Fox - Retail Value $7.50 (found here for $6.82)
I wasn't sure if this was a fox, cat, or bear, but the internet tells me it's a fox. You can see it with a few cats below for size context. The idea is you hang this or put it on the floor to keep your cat from scratching an area. It's kind of annoying on a door because it moves and interferes with the door closing, so I have it hanging from a banister and the cats have shown some interest in it there.
Gratuitous cat photos:
Angus investigates the bat.
Sneaky eats a treat.
Sneaky in the bat wings. I did get bitten for this.
Here is Sneaky with the hanging scratcher thing for a size comparison.
Monkey licked this but didn't eat it.
He would not pose for the camera.
The wings didn't show up on Madison as much as I had hoped.
Verdict: I was unable to calculate a total value for the October 2019 Pet Treater Cat Pack since I had trouble finding some of the items online. There were four items, though, which makes the average price per item about $3.75. I thought the bat wings were fun (and better than the kerchiefs that have been sent in the past) and the overall variety of items was good, with items having higher average values (when values could be found) than usual.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your first pack will ship immediately filled with the most popular fan favorites. Also, there may be some variation among boxes sent during the same month.
Value Breakdown: At $15 per month for this subscription, you are paying approximately $3.75 per item.
