The FabFitFun Box is a quarterly subscription from FabFitFun.com. Each season they send you a box of $200+ worth items in categories like beauty, fashion, and fitness. It's our readers' top pick for Best Fitness Subscription Boxes of 2020!

Check out all of my FabFitFun Box reviews and the Women’s Subscription Box Directory!

FabFitFun sends out a mini mag in each box. It details the items included and also provides background on some of the featured makers and designers. You'll also find exclusive coupons for the brands featured in the box.

Now, time for the items! (If you aren't familiar, FabFitFun lets subscribers pick several of their items each season - I'll show you what I picked for each selection.)

First choice item:

All subscribers will be able to pick one of the following:

  • reVive Light Therapy® Glo Wrinkle and Anti-Aging Light Device
  • DONNI. Ribbed Sweater Coat
  • Caravan Diamond Woven Rug
  • Summer & Rose Navy Diamond Tote (FFF Throwback)
  • west elm Indigo Tie-Dye Bowls (FFF Throwback)
  • Elemis Peptide4 Night Recovery Cream-Oil (FFF Throwback)

My Pick:

Caravan Diamond Woven Rug

(Measures 21 X 34 inches.)

This was an easy pick for me because I needed a new bathroom mat, and as soon as I saw this was 100% cotton and machine washable, that was that! (Also, I've been reviewing boxes for over 8 years now, and this is the first time I can remember a subscription box sent a rug, so props to FabFitFun for keeping things interesting!) I like the geometric print and the white and black colors work well with our bathroom, too. One word of caution - I do recommend getting a grippy rugpad for underneath!

Second choice item:

All subscribers will be able to pick one of the following:

  • CALPAK Set of 3 Packing Cubes
  • Murad® Rapid Collagen Infusion
  • Shoshanna Umbrella
  • tarte™ Rainforest of the Sea™ drink of H2O hydrating boost (FFF Throwback)
  • tarte™ tarteistTM PRO glow highlight & contour palette (FFF Throwback)
  • 111SKIN Rose Gold Radiance Booster (FFF Throwback)

My Pick:

CALPAK Set of 3 Packing Cubes- Retail Value $40

OK, I get it now. I completely understand why people who use packing cubes are obsessed with them. Before getting this set, I packed my suitcase by just throwing in everything I thought I would need, sometimes having to sit on the suitcase to zip it shut, and then having to dig through everything to find what I need once I open my suitcase again.

With these packing cubes, I can use one for underwear, bras, socks, the other two for clothes, and then once one is empty, use it to keep all my laundry items in one place. (The fronts of these fabric "cubes" have mesh so they breathe, there's an extra zippered pocket in the back, and a label card on the front in case you want to really keep things organized - I'm not at that level yet!)

These are definitely my favorite discovery from the box this season. I'll be using them every time I pack my suitcase from now on!

Third choice item:

All subscribers get to pick from the following:

  • Amber Sceats™ Double Coin Necklace
  • Gravity Weighted Sleep Mask
  • WEI™ Two-in-One Purify and Glow Mask Collection
  • Cosmedix Pure C (FFF Throwback)
  • Green Goo Hibiscus Plant-Based Body Scrub (FFF Throwback)

My Pick:

Amber Sceats Double Coin Necklace - Retail Value $50

This was another easy pick for me - I have a bit of an addiction when it comes to delicate gold jewelry. I also have a bit of an online shopping addiction, which I try to curb by just adding items to my wishlist instead of buying them. So this item helped me in two ways. Here is a quick screenshot of my Shopbop jewelry wishlist to help illustrate my point:

I finally get a gold coin necklace without having to pay full retail price for it!

This necklace is gold plated steel and alloy. The shorter strand measures 16 inches with an additional 3 inch extender. I am very much looking forward to warmer weather and matching this necklace with my collection of maxi dresses.

Fourth choice item:

Annual subscribers can pick:

  • Aria Beauty Luxe Detangling Electroplated Brush
  • Jabonería Marianella Imperial Jade Body Oil
  • Stone Cold Fox Tea Towels
  • AVEDA damage remedy™ daily hair repair

(Annual subscribers get to pick their item. Seasonal subscribers will be surprised.)

My Pick:

Aria Beauty Luxe Detangling Electroplated Brush - Retail Value $34.99

For this category, nothing was calling my name, so I decided to go with the brush to have a backup for my WetBrush. (Plus the rose gold metallic finish is fancy!) Well, after using this to detangle my hair post-shower, I think it might be even better than the WetBrush! (Or at least at the same level of being able to detangle my hair without pain.)

I followed these instructions, too:

For detangling, hold the brush vertically. Start at the ends of your hair and work your way up. Because the bristles form a straight line, they will slip through your hair with minimal tension for less breakage! For blow-drying, hold the brush horizontally. Because the bristles are staggered they will create tension for smoothness and shine!

Fifth choice item:

Annual subscribers can pick:

  • AG Hair Fast Food Leave-On Conditioner
  • Skindinavia The Makeup Finishing Spray
  • Lovescript Body Wash
  • Speaqua Cruiser Bluetooth® Wireless Speaker
  • Ciaté London Fierce Flicks Precision Tip Liquid Liner
  • Eparé Dual Salt and Pepper Mill
  • Mystery Choice

(Annual subscribers get to pick their item. Seasonal subscribers will be surprised.)

My Pick:

Speaqua Cruiser Bluetooth® Wireless Speaker - Retail Value $24.99

This speaker is so little and cute! (Scroll through the pics to see me holding it to get a better sense of scale.)

I have a few portable speakers already, but I picked this because it is so tiny I can keep it in my purse/beachbag/backpack etc. without it taking up much space at all. And the sound exceeded my expectations given the size and pricepoint. And it gets loud! (My husband Eric pointed out that the bass isn't great, but also it's pretty much impossible to get great bass on a $24.99 mini speaker.) And the rechargeable battery lasts for 5 hours.

Now that we've gone through all the choice options, all subscribers will get 3 additional items that FabFitFun picks for them.

Sixth Item:

Subscribers will receive one of the following:

  • Avene Thermal Spring Water
  • Purlisse Watermelon Energizing 2 Minute Peel
  • Winky Lux Rainbow Lip Balm

I received:

Avene Thermal Spring Water - Retail Value $14

I've been a fan of this product for years now thanks to subscription box. The spray nozzle provides such a fine mist that you can apply it over makeup without any issues. I like using it throughout the day for a little extra hydration. It's also extra refreshing post-workout.

Seventh Item:

Subscribers will receive one of the following:

  • Chic and Tonic Silicone Straws
  • Wander Beauty Mile High Club Mascara
  • Spongelle Body Wash Infused Buffer in Black Orchid

I received:

Chic and Tonic Silicone Straws - Retail Value $15

These bendy and colorful silicone straws come with a portable carrying case and a brush cleaner. I also appreciate that they are dishwasher safe. Admittedly, I rarely use straws at all, but it's good to have a reusable option that doesn't take up much space!

Eighth Item:

Subscribers will receive one of the following:

  • ThisWorks Deep Sleep Body Cocoon
  • Whish Beauty Blue Matcha Restoring Mask

ThisWorks Deep Sleep Body Cocoon - Retail Value $40

I'm already a fan of the Deep Sleep scent - a blend of Lavender, Chamomile and Vetivert, so I had a feeling I would love this body lotion. No surprise, it's now part of my pre-sleep routine! It's a lightweight formula that dries almost instantly, and the scent lingers. I find the lavender scent to be very soothing, and I'm hoping to train my brain that this scent is a trigger to get sleepy!

Verdict: This box has a value of $232-$503+ depending on which items you receive. As always, I think FabFitFun delivers a great value for the $49.99 cost, especially considering you get to pick some of your items. (It works out to $6.25 an item). When I first saw the spoilers for this box, I wasn't feeling super excited about it, but now that I have the items and I'm using them, I'm honestly thrilled with my picks and my surprises. The packing cubes + hair brush discovery alone make this box worth the cost to me!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? As of today, 3/8 yes! (You'll be able to make your product selections after you sign up.)

For some mysterious reason, FabFitFun decided to send me a plus size Donni coat –

Clearly, they don’t care if the consumer feels taken advantage of.

I am now a former member – their products overall are disappointing, and other boxes are way better.

If you sign up now the only thing left is junk, some choices everything is gone and you are left to select mystery. I guess that why they only let you pick one item before you subscribe and pay.

Hi! I was wanting to sign up for this but kind of wondering about what products were still available. Do you remember what items there still were to choose from?

Paula

I was able to get the sweater, the murad and the necklace today! All would’ve been my first picks!!! Yay!

Fiona Clifford

Here is what I got for my 1st box . I choose the sweater , the collagen infusion and the double coin necklace . the other items were the skindiva setting spray , the facial spray , Spongelle , and the This Works Lotion .

I loved all of my items even though I really wanted the tote and joined late .

Until Next FFF!

Love , Fiona

I’m seasonal and I really liked my Spring box. I got 1 dud- the leave in conditioner. I don’t use conditioner. I chose the Revive Glo Light, the Murad Collagen Infusion and the Gravity Weighted Sleep Mask- all good. The sleep mask is so relaxing. The Deep Sleep lotion is amazing- knocked me right out! I thought I’d hate the Avene water but…I like it a lot. Also got straws and tea towels. Dull but they’ll get some use…eventually. 5 out of 8 are big hits for me. Good value.

I just received my off spring 2020 box I feel as though I received all the unwanted rejects. Do the annual subscribers receive better and more products. The seasonal subscription is 49.99 and the annual one is 179.99, they appear the same one is paid quarterly the other at one time. Seems odd.

Ana Paula

This was my first box and last, I also feel I received all the rejects, I’m not willing to risk it again.

I really liked this box! I LOVE the elemis oil! And I have wanted to try the light thing. I’m not sure it does anything, but at least I didn’t pay $200 for the one I had my eye on!! The 111 radiance stuff doesn’t seem to do much, but it feels nice. I got the weighted mask to heat up and put on my sinuses, since I don’t wear sleep masks. It’s amazing for my bad sinus days (always lately). The WEI masks are nice, too. I like the body oil, especially since I’ve been so dry lately. The “mystery” item was highlighter. Boo. Then I got the straws (yay), body lotion (helps me sleep, like the spray, so yay), and the lip balm (super-yay). My only real boo was the highlighter, so no complaints here!

Fanny

Of course you got a great box! Those were all the most expensive items. I literally got water in a can.

Reply ButtonReply

Cary san

What fits in the packing cubes? Does the big cube fit pants? How many?

Reply ButtonReply

Crystal

I agree that the necklace is very cheap, but I never expect FFF jewelry to last beyond the summer, it’s just something to throw on when you want to be casual. I don’t wear my expensive jewelry when I’m going out dogwalking or walking around in jeans and a T-shirt. What surprised me was the umbrella, it’s much better quality than I expected so I’m happy with that. I’ve had FFF umbrellas in the past and they’re super cheap quality. I also liked the body oil – I’m obviously in a minority – though it does have a bug spray vibe. I also like the body lotion. My favorite item is the wrinkle wand thing, I just think it’s neat, and not something I’d ever buy. That’s why I like these boxes, they introduce you to stuff you’d never dream of paying full price for. Otherwise the box is okay, definitely worth the price of the sub, though I’m going to cancel due to product overload.

Reply ButtonReply

Carol

Loved. Everything! But I know what the opposite feels like, as in a different sub, so sorry about the disappointment for some.

Reply ButtonReply

Carol

Sandy, I am 64 and just had the 8th gkid, so I hear you, but annual is the way to go as we are not in the target duration and group and hop in on customization early, perhaps?

Reply ButtonReply

Carol

I don’t care for autocorrect…curation age

Jennybean20

Does anyone know if you can choose your items if you sign up now? It makes me put in payment immediately, but I don’t want to buy it if it doesn’t allow me to pick my options.

Reply ButtonReply

Erinn

I don’t know what their policy is but when I signed up for my first box I was outside the customization period, but I chatted with a customer rep who let me choose selections from what was left. So if you aren’t able to pick thru the website, try CS!

I canceled my subscription after the Winter box, so disappointed in it, they sent me everything for a teenager, (stocking cap and arm warmers) speaker for shower, I’m a 60 yr old grandmother not into most of this stuff, and they just sent me the spring box, how do I cancel this, don’t want it anymore,

Reply ButtonReply

Mellissa

You can cancel it by going to their website and doing a live chat. Tell them you want to cancel.

I loved EVERYTHING in my box and it was the discounted price box… I was a bit worried about what they might send but I love it all.

I had all the FFF Throwback items, as I’ve not missed a box since the subscription started, so I wasn’t disappointed that they’d sold out when I made my selections;

I got:

1) Donni sweater jacket ( I chose the larger size because I never know about the true sizes ( BOS has burned me a time or two because the bust sizes have been tiny and mine isn’t) but this is a huge sweater jacket. I wear mine wrapped around and tied with a gray leopard belt and gray camo lounge pants.
2) ReVive facial light. Have no clue whether it will work but it was there and I was interested. Definitely in my age group of skin care anti-aging.
3) Murad Rapid collagen infusion- Again, great for my age group. I have young skin but want to keep it that way at home rather than at a dermatologist’s office.
4) The packing cubes with the fruit. Totally my breezy Boho summery style and I will likely use them for several things… mainly at the pool.
5) Necklace- I like it a lot. I didn’t expect anything different than what the photo showed.
6) Eye mask- I’ve never had a weighted one and wanted to try it.
7) The Wei masks.
8) This Works Deep sleep cocoon gel
9) Avene’ facial water spray.
10) Jabonería Marianella Imperial Jade Body Oil
11) AG Hair Fast Food Leave-On Conditioner.
12) Gin n Tonic Silicone straws- I have a drawer full of stainless steel and silicone straws, so they will be used and I love them.

I had the choice to add a few things for a few dollars, so I bought a Vanilla Bourbon Spongelle ( love this scent) and the Pixi facial cleaning cloths, because they were really cheap.

LOVE it all. Probably one of my favorite FFF boxes in a long time because: No body scrubs, no mascara, no ugly plastic or vinyl purse.

The body oil smells awful to me. The first (and only time) I’ve used it, my husband asked me if I had been dusting the house because I smelled like Lemon Pledge. Not a compliment.

I do like the packing cubes, and the brush.

Still, this box seemed like such a mess, overall. And a few days ago, I got an email about some FFF deal and the invisible type braces. That’s spam to me, and I don’t care for the direction the company is heading. Will probably not renew after my yearly sub is up.

Reply ButtonReply

cheryl s zaccone

The oil does smell awful. That was the only thing in that category that appealed to me. And it’s a heavy oil.

I really wanted the packing cubes and thought/know i picked those but I got the Murad serum. I called FFF and they said that is what I picked, so I’m bad. BUT the serum is really nice and I’m thinking I can pick those cubes up cheaper elsewhere.

I got the Love Script body wash now that smells lovely and the the this Works is great although I use in the AM after my shower, it absorbs so quickly

My biggest disappointment was the sleep mask. I have been wanting one for a long time. This is HARD bulky and uncomfortable. This was my last FFF in my subscription that I did not renew. I will miss it but the budget says stop.

Jade

The “spam” email is a typical offer like most company send out. If you don’t want to receive those type of emails, simply click the unsubscribe button at the bottom of the email.

Reply ButtonReply

Beth in Oklahoma

But I don’t want to unsubscribe to FFF entirely, which would be the result, right? (I’ll double check the email)

And no, I don’t think any of my other subscription boxes send out offers like that. Not that I can recall.

It’s spam, and I don’t like FFF sending emails to me in that manner. When I think of FabFitFun, I surely don’t think of dental work!

Caroline

It’s not though. It’s one thing to send leaflets in the box itself but to send sponsored emails from other companies? That should be illegal.

Sheila

Anyone else appalled by the necklace?
I can’t believe how cheap it is!
Seriously I don’t expect it to be the best quality, but this necklace was like out of a kid’s trinket machine at the grocery store.
I’ve had jewelry selections from FFF before and they’ve been fine. This was ridiculous-unwearable & ungiftable.

Reply ButtonReply

Amy H Lindsey

If I have a choice of choosing something other than jewelry, I choose the latter. The jewelry is always so cheap quality.

Reply ButtonReply

Marion

I ended up canceling my seasonal sub because I didn’t like the choices after all the “throwback” stock was sold out before seasonal subscribers got to pick items. Super unethical of this company to widely advertise the items as being available to everyone, but not reserve any stock.

Reply ButtonReply

Sonia

The same happened to me and I was an annual subscriber. The last sales my money was returned after months of waiting with the ” sorry we ran out” message. I cancelled and moved on to Box of Style.

Reply ButtonReply

SquirrelyGirl

I loved my spring box. I had $40 add on credit so I got a 2nd box.

My favorites are;

The cardigan for lounging around the house
The packing cubes (so glad I got 2). I travel for work over 200 days a year and these make it so much easier!
The weighted mask (also glad I got 2). It’s really nice while getting body work done and for savanna.
The brush-though I use it on dry hair
The body oil- very moisturizing without any greasy feel
Ag fast food hair-LOVE. My hair is down to my butt and in dore need of a cut. Its become a little unmanageable, but this stuff makes a huge difference.
The purlisse peel- i have a stash of this. Stoked for another
The rainbow balm
The deep sleep lotion
And the straws. I don’t like metal, glass or paper straws and plastic are obviously not great so these are a good compromise, when I want a straw.

I thought the sound on the speaker was pretty terrible, especially the bass, but it will come in handy on hikes when I want to use lore than my phone speaker.

I’m an annual so for $45 I feel like I really got my money’s worth and the free box was icing on the cake.

Reply ButtonReply

Molly

Why are the packing cube choices so similar? I would’ve loved to get that in my box but those colors don’t go with my luggage. Why not a black or grey choice?

Reply ButtonReply

Dea

Colorful and fun for fun, instead of boring black or grey. Anyway, the cubes go inside your suitcase, not alongside it like a carry-on, so their colors don’t need to match your luggage.

Reply ButtonReply

Molly

There same with the speaker. I remember when they used to curate a box & then you just made color/print selections. It felt like a real spring (or whatever season) box.

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

I love this subscription. It is one of the few where items are not languishing in a drawer somewhere. I use everything. Even when I may not feel overcome with excitement, I end up using and loving 85-90% of the contents. We are all so different, with varying preferences. I consider it a complete win when a box manages to please most subscribers.
I would hesitate to buy an umbrella, slippers or a throw. But I have them and use them frequently.

Reply ButtonReply

Diana Navarro

I was disappointed with this box for a few reasons. I’m supposed to have priority access but some things were already sold out a mere hours after getting an email to choose, I wanted the Bluetooth speaker, for instance. From the choices there were quite a few repeats from previous boxes like the diamond pattern tote bag. As far as the choice I did pick the detangling brush, a few bristles broke the first time I used it. I have long thick hair but used it carefully and I still had a hard time so I resorted to using my old but reliable brush..I so do not like complaining but I just expect more and may have to cancel if the next box doesn’t improve in choices, quantities and quality.

Reply ButtonReply

Kristine

I know lots of people are disappointed in FFF spring box but I love everything I picked. I liked it so much I ordered another one in add one. I’m annual so I get to pick most of my box. There’s not one item I won’t use. Thanks for the awesome review. I’m really hoping for the packing cubes and necklace now.

Reply ButtonReply

Erinn

Anyone else pick the Mystery Choice for #5? That’s what I did and I got the Better Skin Co Epik Skin Serum, which I’m happy with. Curious to know what else was a mystery pick!

Reply ButtonReply

flowerbunnylove

My mystery item was the Kate Somerville Oil Free Moisturizer. It’s a good product but not something I use, so I planned to put it up for trade on FFF, but it was snatched up before I even got a chance.

Reply ButtonReply

Brandi

I just got an e-mail to review my box. When I reviewed it, it had me choose which of the mystery items I received. Here’s what was on the list: tarte lights, camera, lashes mascara, The Better Skin Co. serum, Kate Somerville Oil Free Moisturizer, ZAGO Milano Cool Reactive Face Toner, Milk Makeup Holographic Powder in Mars, Vasanti Hyaluronic Boost Lip Plumper in Clear, Milk Makeup Lip Vinyl in Flexin, BIOS Apothecary Peppermint Face Cream, and Laura Geller Hi-Def Glow Illuminator Duo in Heart of Gold. I wouldn’t have minded getting the Kate Somerville or BIOS, but I am happy with the serum I got. I am not really interested in the other items, so I got lucky.

Reply ButtonReply

Brandi

I got the same thing!

Reply ButtonReply

Randi

Oooops—my mistake. I mixed up popsugar and FFF 😳

Reply ButtonReply

Randi

Well, this stinks. I was only offered a choice of Blocking-glasses And necklace color. I wouldn’t have signed up if I realized I wouldn’t have all the choices. What a bummer. I already have most of the “throwbacks” and definitely don’t want more. Is there anything I can do about this…?

Reply ButtonReply

Marion

Randi, you’re thinking of PopSugar! This is a review of FabFitFun. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole

I used to love this box years ago but it’s so many variations and I started getting irritated that things are selling out or that I would get the items I didn’t care for. This box and boxy have blown up so much that they can’t possibly send everyone the same items.

Reply ButtonReply
