Look Fantastic February 2020 "Amour Edition" Review
Each box comes with a booklet that includes product information and tips for how to use what you got.
ESPA Detoxifying Body Oil, 15 ml - Estimated Value $10.50 (Buy a full-size 100 ml for $70.00)
First, this frosted glass bottle is SO cute. The cap is plastic the resembles stone or terrazzo and I adore it. Sadly, this oil smells just like a citronella candle. Technically it is a blend of cypress and juniper, but it is a dead-on dupe for everyone's favorite mosquito repellant. It feels great on my skin (the base is a nourishing sweet almond oil), but I can't get past the fragrance. I do think I might hold onto this for summer picnics though!
Brushworks Complexion Sponge - Retail Value $7.40
I know these are pretty common in subscription boxes, but I never like to hold onto sponges for too long because I feel like they can get very icky. I also feel like they can waste a ton of product due to simple absorption, but I adore the dewy finish I get from a tool like this, especially when applying liquid highlighters or foundation. I tend to apply makeup with my fingertips, then use my sponge to pat it into my skin after I have already achieved most of the coverage I need. This saves me a little product loss and still gives me that soft finish I want. This sponge has a pointed tip for precision work and a flat end for patting makeup into place.
Illamasqua Mini Antimatter Lipstick in 'Bang', 2 g - Estimated Value $12.53 (Buy a full-size 4.15 g for $26.00)
This little black mini bullet is very cute and chic. The nude color inside is very pretty and the pigment level is good. The finish is kind of a satin/matte hybrid, which is cool because you have more of a flat look without the dryness that often comes with true matte formulas.
A very nice nude.
Filorga Meso Mask, 15 ml - Estimated Value $17.70 (Buy full-size 50 ml for $59.00)
I rather liked this mask. It is the creamy sort that you apply to your face then wipe away with a damp cloth after about a 15-30 minute wait. It left my skin feeling over-the-top soft and I love that it seemed to improve the radiance and smoothness of my skin. Though I rarely ever do masks before work or makeup in the morning (who has the time?) I kind of want to make it a priority sometime this week because I bet my makeup would sit like a dream on top of my skin after this treatment.
Project Lip Lip Mask - Retail Value $5.30
I haven't ever really had a ton of luck with lip gels, though they are always a good time. This one was a little different than most others I have tried because it was so thin! I actually managed to keep it on my lips while I was upright. The gel itself is a white color with little pink shimmer particles. It did add a little hydration to my lips, but nothing major.
Naobay Gentle Facial Toner, 125 ml - Full Size! Retail Value $16.70
I actually really love this brand and I love that a full-size bottle was included! This toner is the sort that I would apply with a cotton round or with my hands, gently patting it into my skin before a day or night moisturizer. It smells like orange flowers and absorbs in a snap, leaving behind a subtle softness that I loved on my face. This is a super gentle formula that should work well with any skin type.
The Verdict: I liked this Look Fantastic Beauty Box. Though I don't see myself using the oil too much, the mask, toner, lip mask, sponge, and lipstick were all very nice products and totally useable. This box had an overall value of around $70.13, which is good for a $19 box. I was a little sad to see there was no magazine this month though... hopefully that returns in March.
