Pet Treater Cat Pack September 2020 Review

I used to find the dog version of Pet Treater a little bit random but the cat version (maybe because it is smaller) is often a little more focused:

There’s not a traditional information card with this subscription, but you get a couple of inserts. There used to be a sticker each month but this seems to have been discontinued.

On to the items:

Kerchief

Every month there is a kerchief. This isn't really a *cat* item but at least they are (1) finished with edges instead of raw-edged, off-the-bolt cuts of fabric, and (2) cat-sized (we have gotten kerchiefs before that were big enough for a large dog. Monkey was at least a willing model (sort of).

Buddy Biscuits Savory Turkey and Cheddar (3 oz) - Retail Value $4.22 (found here for $3.95)

This was a hit with all three cats. These are a little bit stinky but I guess stinky treats are better (at least the bag is resealable). They are semi-moist and seemed fresh. This is a good brand; I buy the hard cookies for my enormous puppy (she is up to 75 pounds now and still growing). You can sometimes find these at Whole Foods.

Jackson Galaxy Spiral LED Balls - Retail Value $4.99 (found here for $3.95)

This is a Monkey toy (he's my cat who is into hard plastic balls) although Madison showed more interest during the photo session. These light up when they hit things and they did work, probably because they did have the plastic tabs that keep the battery from running out while they are in a warehouse somewhere.

Pet Zone Dino Friends Play-n-Squeak - Retail Value $3.97

This is another toy with a battery, this one makes noise. It also worked. Madison was more interested in the feathers and Monkey liked the different textures on the top and bottom. This is a little large/heavy for tossing (the noise mechanism weighs it down) but a good size for chin rubbing and also wrestling.

Gratuitous cat photos (Sneaky was non-cooperative and most of the pictures with her in them did not come out at all, but the boys were good):

Verdict: I was unable to calculate a total value for the September Pet Treater Cat Pack since the kerchief isn't available online. Although the cats weren't so into the kerchief (I pre-tied it and kept trying to slip it over their heads while they were eating treats), the toys seemed interesting to them and the treats were a huge hit. I would say this is a typical package from Pet Treater in terms of item types; often you can expect a closeout toy or two but these are still in production and sold by major retailers.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your first pack will ship immediately filled with the most popular fan favorites. Also, there may be some variation among boxes sent during the same month.

Value Breakdown: At $15 per month for this subscription, you are paying approximately $3.75 per item.

Code does not work! It says you must have specific items in your cart but I put the $25 box in my cart so idk what their problem is!

My cat has that same play and squeak toy. He just loves them.. I buy any I can find. 🌟

It’s a good value for that type of toy.

I love the pic of Monkey in the box. I had a cat who would climb into a box no matter what the size. Love your review as usual!!!

I also wish they would nix the kerchief. They only time my cats have to tolerate those nasty things ifs after surgery…again a waste of resources.

I’ve tried to figure this out a couple of times from what you write about them, but I can’t. Which of your cats is which??

Monkey is in the first picture in the box. Madison is the black cat. Sneaky is in the last picture and is the shorthair. (She’s the one you always see eating fingers when she gets treats, lol.)

Sorry, I didn’t see these comments until now. Your description of Sneaky made me laugh (it is entirely accurate — I often end up bleeding).

Thank you, AprilAriesPb!

I agree that kerchiefs for cats are kind of dumb, but the pattern this month is so cute!

My cat actually doesn’t mind wearing them, and it’s pretty cute for photo ops.

This just doesn’t seem like a good deal. Only 4 items(one of which is a kerchief) for $15? I’d never use the kerchief. I’d be better off buying the other items from retail.
