Fine Cosmetics High Potency Nocturnal Renewal Set, 50 mL and 30 mL - Retail Value $140.00 (119,00 €)
Per Boxwalla:
The Nocturnal Renewal set consists of both an overnight Face Mask & Eye Mask. Both masks are made in a base of French deep sea water & witch hazel leaf water with beautiful botanical actives like ashwagandha, Persian silk extract, niacinamide.
First, the whole presentation of this set is pretty incredible. Everything is nestled into a fitted grey box with metallic embellishment. The trio of items inside is an amber glass apothecary-style bottle with a night cream, and an amber stopper bottle with an eye mask, and a small wooden spoon.
I tried the eye mask first and (spoiler alert) I was incredibly impressed. It was cooling and has a tightening effect that is really pleasant. It has a serum sort of texture and it just takes the smallest amount to get good coverage. I did a drop under each eye then used my fingers to gently pat it around on this super delicate skin. This ingredient list has all the heavy hitters I want to see in a formula that is going to perform: hyaluronic acid, panthenol, niacinamide, lactic acid, and more. And these powerhouses are combines with botanical extracts from beetroot, Persian silk tree, elderberry, etc. All together they form an eye mask that is both nourishing as well as smoothing. Though the formulas have similarities, I loved this stuff even more than the Fine eye serum in the October box!
The Overnight Face Mask was pretty freaking incredible. If you have dry skin or you are worried about aging, or you simply just want something extra nourishing to get you through the cold months, this is the stuff. There is some ingredient overlap here, but this cream is fortified with ceramides, lipid-rich oils, and additional botanicals. The texture is heavy and luxe and, once again, you don't need a lot of this stuff for full coverage. Not a lot of scent here, kind of creamy and maybe a little citrusy? I applied this onto my face in a nice thicker layer before bed and took some time massaging it in. My face was glowing in the morning! Very excited to add this to my winter skin routine and keep it smooth and hydrated even if it is freezing and windy outside.
Peace Body Serum, 50 mL - Retail Value $25.00 (21,50 €)
'Tis the season to get dry skin! Most of us have already turned our heat on for the year (though this weekend was incredibly warm and confusing for me) and that means a drier house and dry skin. If you are already dry anyway, this is a season of lotions, creams, and body oils. I will be adding this serum to my routine because I am so impressed with it. Firstly, it smells so nice. Think warm vanilla and lavender with some evergreen needles and resin. It is a mild scent, but you certainly notice it! The serum itself needs to be shaken up really well before using it because it does tend to separate a little because this is a nourishing mix of aloe and loads of skin-loving oils like tea seed, squalane, sweet almond, and more. There is also a nice bit of hyaluronic acid in here too for extra hydration. I did notice alcohol a little farther down the list, but I am not so worried about it in this formula since it is very much outweighed by the other goodies inside. I really like using this on areas where I typically find lotion a little heavy, like my neck and chest.
Verdict: There aren't many boxes out there that do an LE as well as Boxwalla. I have yet to be disappointed! If you are new to the Fine Cosmetics brand or if you are already a fan, this trip of winter essentials is going to bring you some serious skin joy. And with a value of over $165 for the cost of $64.95, the value is great too. I loved this curation of skincare that feels both cold-weather and holiday-appropriate, thanks to the scent of that serum! This would be a great gift for someone you love or a wonderful treat-yourself sort of purchase!
