I subscribed for a month for the Gothamista box, which looked awesome. They didn't ship out my box for weeks after the original estimate, and kept telling me that it would ship out "next week". Then they told me that the boxes would ship a full month later (than the already delayed time), and when I complained, they said they made a mistake on my order and they managed to "find a box" that they could ship to me. What kind of terrible operations do they have going on? Obviously I canceled my subscription before the box even shipped out. Don't bother with this service, there are much better companies out there.

That sounds awful, I've never heard of them doing anything like that before. I've received boxes for my girls for three months now and only had one issue arise. I had purchased a bib from their shop, but they didn't actually have any of them left. Their customer service emailed me an apology and issued me a full refund as soon as they caught the mistake.
