I use to sell off my unwanted FFF items on Ebay and somehow FFF found out. FFF sent me a letter that stated selling any of their items was against my contract with them. It was sent FedEx and I had to sign for it.
I called them to ask about it as there were thousands of items online. They said that if they saw me selling any item, they’d ban me.
It was an interesting thing. I was selling a few individual items (not a full box).

People sell FFF at Ebay all the time. Once you buy the box you own it. If that is the way they want to be then my annual subscription is over and I will never buy a thing from them. I have bought things I wanted more of and that should be between me and the seller!

Bye Bye FFF 👋👋👋

Maybe someone reported you? I really don’t understand why some get so upset that people sell off items they can’t use. I don’t use Ebay but have sold many items online that I couldn’t use or gift. I’ve seen several sell multiple starter boxes (the $5 ones) online that are still actively selling. If FFF has an issue with resellers they should go after these big time resellers not those selling a few items each season.

Kathy

I see what you mean, but if people could also just purchase individual items from sellers then I think FFF sees it as ‘well why should I sub to FFF when I could just buy individual items off EBay?’

We live in a free market economic system and it not illegal to resell items, as long as you are not breaking any copyright laws etc. I think its perfectly acceptable to sell items from these boxes on Ebay that you are not going to use. That helps to defray the cost of the box. I don’t think I have ever received a box where I used, or was wowed by every single item

Zo

WTH?! That’s insane. I guess if you didn’t say FFF or fab fit fun in the listing they might not find out.

Rose

I didn’t use FFF in the title nor description of the Ebay listing. I have a small (under 1000 subscribers at the tome) YT channel where I use to do unboxings occasionally. My YT channel had a completely different name than my Ebay name. I use my home address for FFF boxes and my PO Box for Ebay orders.
It was quite odd. Plus, I would think FFF would sell more boxes if you could sell off a few items here and there.

Cindy

My whole family is OBSESSED with the Unhide. I got one in a box, then bought a second in an edit sale or as an add on. But that was still only 2 for a 4 person house – so I bought 2 more as add ons plus I got the one in my box so now we have one for each person, plus an extra for if/when one gets ripped, etc.

For some, subscription boxes are their livelihood. All they do is resell items. Among FB, IG, Mercari, Posh, Etsy sites…there are thousands of people who’ve created a whole subset resale industry of box products.

Cynthia

I’ve sold a few items I couldn’t use but really don’t make much. I wonder how people are getting enough to make reselling worthwhile?

I use those West Elm bowls nearly every time I cook dinner. They’re the perfect prep bowls. They’ve stood up to tons of use and haven’t developed even a tiny chip.

The most popular item I found from FFF was credit card fraud

Reply ButtonReply

Taylor

Helen,
I hate to agree with you but my card was charged on an edit sale for something I didn’t purchase. FFF refunded me the money for the singular item and admitted to a mix up, HOWEVER they had the audacity to not refund me the amount of shipping since one item was purchased, and didn’t meet the shipping minimum- EVEN THOUGH it wasn’t purchased by me to begin with. Okay rant over.

mel

You asked them to refund the Entire Fraudulent charge to include the shipping and they refused? I would dispute that charge through your bank – that is wrong!

Ake

That’s awful, Taylor! I hope you did a chargeback.

I love the cooler. It’s very handy. So handy one of my kids borrowed it, and I haven’t seen it since. 😧Love the blanket, too.

I look forward to the day I can “test” the packing cubes. Which won’t be anytime soon, I’m afraid, although the breezy description makes it sound like it was written pre-Covid.

The packing cubes are just taunting me at this point!

I love that cooler bag for carrying a casserole dish – it is the perfect size! Now for the world to go back to normal so dinner parties can be a thing again. Good list.

These are pretty fabulous. FFF really picked up its act…so much so that I resubscribed after being cancelling my subs when they had their great shipping debacle a couple of years ago.

Reply ButtonReply

brandi

I question if these are so popular, why did people want to swap them in the first place?

Reply ButtonReply

DotG310

Yup. Rose is right.

I also see people buy up extras, or get multiple subs just to use extra items for trade bait or to resell and recoup costs.

I re-subbed for the unhide blanket so I will likely have items I won’t use, but I usually gift to family or friends. Blanket gave me some kinda FOMO since I canceled before the blanket last year. Lol.

I’ll add that not every product is for everyone, and when you don’t get to choose it and it’s not for you (or even if you do get to choose, but 1) you don’t like any of the category selections or 2) once received it turns out to be not what you expected/wanted) you might want to swap it for an item/items you would enjoy.

Reply ButtonReply

Rose

People often list these highly in-demand items in the hopes of swapping for one of their unicorns. It’s not that they don’t want these items…it’s just that there are other things that they want MORE. I have a couple of items listed that I could easily keep and use, but I would be willing to give them up if someone has one of my unicorns. Usually, you need a unicorn to get a unicorn.
