LiveGlam Brush Club January 2021 Review
It looks like we have 3 different brushes to play with this month plus a special bonus brush!
Morphe M532 Deluxe Highlight (Synthetic) - Retail Value $9.00
I have a few of these highlighter brushes, but this might be my new favorite. The bristles are light yet super full which is what you want when adding a little highlight. I recently received a shadow palette that had a mix of beautiful mattes and very light shimmer shades that I have been layering with each other. I found that this highlighter is the perfect brush to use when adding my final layer of shimmer that is light enough to not mess with the matte color below. It is also great to use for blending which I do a lot of since I tend to wear darker browns. A really quality brush that I know I will get a ton of use out of!
Morphe M459 Flat Contour (Synthetic) - Retail Value $14.00
So I want to start by saying that I have never contoured on my own. I have had it done by my Mom who is a makeup artist or for weddings, but I haven't done it on myself even minimally. I am starting to learn though after I received a really beautiful powder palette that is meant for contouring. Since I have been watching so many 'how to contour' videos I was really excited to see this flat contour brush! I don't have anything like it and you really need one to get a great line that you can also blend with. It is a straight edge brush so you can get that definition, but the bristles are so soft that it is also great for blending. I used this on my cheekbones and jawline and was pretty happy with the results. I really need to keep practicing though and trying out new colors, but this brush is going to be so helpful in starting this new journey!
Morphe M495 Duo Deluxe Fan (Synthetic) - Retail Value $12.00
I feel so professional using this fan brush! Honestly, it is so amazing! The first way that you can use this is to dust away any eyeshadow fallout, so simple. What I have found this to be great for is to apply blush or bronzer. It can be really easy to apply too much or for the bronzer to not be even, but this fan style allows me to go very lightly over my face in a larger space so it turns out more even. You can also use this to blend or apply a powder foundation. I typically wear bronzer more in the summer to have more of a makeup-free get-up and go look so I know I will be using this a lot more when I have a tan. You could even use this to apply a face mask, but make sure to clean thoroughly and let it dry if you want to switch your usage back to makeup. This fan brush really does it all and can help to clean up and blend any little mistakes or over-application you might have done.
LiveGlam Bonus Brush
I received a bonus LiveGlam brush this month and what a treat it was! The larger side is more of a fluff brush so it is great to use for applying shadow especially in the crease area of my eye. It does a great job in applying the full length of my lid, but it is also great for blending. Again, I tend to use darker shadows this time of the year so this is great to achieve my daily look. The flat brush side is a great multi-use brush. You can use it to apply concealer under your eyes, to highlight in the v of your eye, or for your brows in a pinch. I love that the bonus was a double-sided brush as well so I really got two extras this month if you think about it!
Verdict: This was my first Brush Club and it is really helping me step up my brush game! I am really starting to dive into learning the art of contouring, but you really can't do it without the proper brushes. The flat contour brush is a game changer to use for either powder or cream foundations. It is perfect for adding that highlight line, but soft enough to blend it all out. The fan makes me feel like a makeup artist right at home, what a quality brush! It really can be used every day to either clean up fallout, to blend out a too heavy-handed bronzer, to highlight, or to lightly apply powder foundation or bronzer. This is absolutely my favorite brush of the month! I was so excited to receive a bonus brush as well which is great for me to use on my daily eyeshadow look. I can't wait to see what the February box will bring as I continue to step up my makeup and brush game, I hope you enjoy reading along with my journey!
