Ugh. The one avant product I got had dyes in it. If anything was completely unnecessary to add to a skincare product it would be that, especially considering how expensive their products are.

Avant, Able, and Symbiosis brands are a scam. It’s cheap alibaba goods with private branding added and a ridiculous price tag slapped on. DO NOT BUY and box that has these brands in them, and write angry emails to the sub box trying to scam you and inflate value. Avant- claims to have stores in Florida, but the addresses given are locations of Home Depot stores. The websites are template sites, their social media tries to look legit but interaction is scarce other than giveaways linked to from other sources. I wouldn’t put any of this stuff on my face and subs like Boxy and LF should be ashamed of themselves for scamming customers like this.

If I see Avant, 111Skin, or other brands who do this kind of thing I immediately just toss them in the trash. Just like you said, all they’re doing is trying to jack up the “retail price” of the box with crappy products.
It’s gotten to the point where I do significant research on any new brand that comes my way. I only get Ipsy Glam Bag Plus and Allure now and I’m to the point where I’m going to cancel one of those — just don’t know which one.
I think The Ordinary/Deciem brands are excellent quality and very affordable, so as soon as I’m done with my stash, I’ll move forward with only their products. It’s fun to get a box in the mail, but more and more I’m questioning where the products really come from.

After reading your salient, accurate and revealing post; I thought to myself: “..this woman knows what she is talking about.” Thank you. I have been getting subscription boxes from the gate, over a decade ago and have been through the mill and back. I only like clean and honest products now or serious cult classics now. Think: The Ordinary, European Nivea, Some Kiehls, Prescription Retin- A and I know my science. Bravo to you!!! – Mare

Avant is a brand that’s created by this company. It’s not worth the price and is used only in sub boxes to raise the value.

I agree. This product is like 111skin products. Average at best and not worth the hype or price.
