Pet Treater Cat Pack February 2021 Review

I used to find the dog version of Pet Treater a little bit random but the cat version (maybe because it is smaller) is often more focused:

There’s not a traditional information card with this subscription, but you get a couple of inserts.

On to the items:

Kerchief

This month’s kerchief looked like a slice of pizza. I got Monkey into it as usual and I somehow managed to trick Madison into it as well. I don’t think they enjoyed it, though. (As for me, I much prefer funny cat hats and/or full costumes, kerchiefs seem like more of a dog thing. At least the edges were finished and it was an appropriate size for cats.)

ASPCA 2-Pack Cat Toys

These football and basketball felt toys are nearly identical to the sun and cloud toys we received last month. These are a good size for my cats and they seem to find the felt texture interesting, but I think the toys are a little old since I can’t find them for sale online and also since the catnip isn’t quite as exciting to them as usual. Some catnip spray helps, or you can just rub one of the treats on these toys, which gives them a different smell that may be of interest to your food-motivated cats.

Toy with Suction Cup and Spring

This did not have any kind of branding on it at all so I don’t even know how to begin looking for it. I couldn’t get the suction cup to stick to anything but the cats did seem to enjoy it as an interactive toy, and Sneaky liked biting the suction cup (yes I got a photo).

Sassycat Freeze-Dried Whitefish (0.88 oz) – Retail Value $3.49 (found here for $2.99)

This is a pretty good brand in general. My cats aren’t always into freeze-dried meat; this month, the boys kind of sniffed it but Sneaky ate it. And almost ate my fingers as well. I think the bag came open a little or got slit during shipping because the entire package smelled of fish when I opened it. But honestly, that made my cats more interested in the items.

Gratuitous cat photos:

(Sneaky is the calico, Madison is black, and Monkey is tan and white.)

Verdict: I was unable to calculate a total value for the February Pet Treater Cat Pack since not all of the items were available online. This was a fairly typical month for the Pet Treater Cat Pack. You’ll nearly always get a kerchief these days, and one type of treat, and usually two toys. I was a little disappointed that this month’s felt toys were nearly identical to last month’s (just a different shape) but the suction cup toy ended up being well-received, even if my cats didn’t play with it in the way it was designed to be used.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your first pack will ship immediately filled with the most popular fan favorites. Also, there may be some variation among boxes sent during the same month.

Value Breakdown: At $15.00 per month for this subscription, you are paying approximately $3.75 per item.

I love your review, thank you! I really love my dog pet treater sub although my dog is only 5 pounds and the toys are at least 3/4 the size he is, so I do wish they would cater to a little bit smaller animals. Same with the bandanas, sometimes they are twice as big as he is. I have found that I can cut them in half, but I do wish they would tailor these a little bit more.

I was so disappointed last month. We used to get really cool and kitchy items and now it is all the same type over and over. Have been subbed for 3yrs now and looking like I will be cancelling soon. Not worth it even at my grandfathered rate. Will use the money to buy toys they will play with and treats that don’t smell so bad. These treats were awful and stunk up the whole house!

I do enjoy your reviews, this sub has just become super disappointing

We got our first multi cat pack recently and it was very much worth it, especially at half off! (though the MSA coupon didn’t work, I found another online). I think it might have been a box of favorites. It was well received by our gang of 5 with some toys, some new treats and a long lasting bag of catnip that’s still being enjoyed. But I canceled because they included 2 kerchiefs. I expected one from reading these reviews, but 2? Our cats don’t like wearing things and we don’t get a charge out of putting things on them either so it felt like useless filler. Now we have 2 Pet Treater branded cloths that are unlikely to be used for any cat-related purposes.

Now if that second kerchief had been another treat, or toy, or something else, just not a kerchief, I would have kept the subscription going. But I did the math and it seems like meowbox is the best value for us right now.

An additional letdown: there was a coupon code for half off included to get more of the new-to-us treats by Vitakraft on Amazon and it didn’t work. That’s okay, full price is fine because they really enjoyed the Lick ‘N’ Lap snacks.

But I do recommend trying the box out especially at half off. If it was always that price I wouldn’t mind the extra kerchief!

Calico Cat

Love the photos as usual. Especially great this month. I’m shocked that you got Madison to wear the bandana. Sometimes, he is so shy
