FabFitFun is a quarterly subscription box from FabFitFun.com. Each season they send you a box of items in categories like beauty, fashion, and fitness. It's our readers' top pick for the Best Fitness Subscription Boxes of 2021!
Each season, FabFitFun features a different design for its box. Starting with the Fall 2020 delivery, you may have noticed some changes—that's because FabFitFun switched over to 100% recycled kraft boxes and is working with artists to feature designs with less ink in their commitment to sustainability.

FabFitFun Summer 2021 Review - A Beauty-Focused Curation
This season we decided to mix it up! Along with my personal box selection review, we also decided to customize a few more based on the fun themes that were in this box, like a beachy curation, this beauty-focused assortment, and a lifestyle box. We wanted to give a broader view of the items you could possibly select from, so be sure to check back for different reviews of different box curations in the next few days!
FFF recently changed the selection process which allows for more options for all subscribers. I have noted more info on this in each following section to keep you in the loop.
There are still differences in terms of dates for customizations for Annual and Seasonal subscribers:
With so many great beauty options available this season, it made me wonder what this box could look like if I chose ONLY beauty items. Beauty boxes are honestly my favorite type of boxes I review (don't tell the others!) and I know a ton of readers only subscribe to beauty boxes. With these excellent choices from FFF this quarter, I thought I might try to transform this delivery into something fans of Boxycharm, IPSY, NBTT, or BeautyFix might enjoy.
Ready to dive in? Let's go!
First choice item:
Choice 1 – All subscribers will be able to pick one of the following for their Summer Box:
- Summer Fridays CC Me Serum
- PMD Beauty Clean (Teal)
- Neoprene Beach Tote (Pink/red) or (Blue/green)
- Virginia Wolf Multi Wear Wrap
- Society6 Outdoor Blanket
- Society6 Wine Chiller
- L*Space Tie Dye Towel
My Pick:
Summer Fridays CC Me Serum, 1 fl oz - Retail Value $64.00
This was actually the first of two vitamin C products I chose for this curation which was partly by accident and partly because of how great vitamin C is for your skin. Why not experiment with a few to see what you like best, right? While I am a little wary of the Summer Fridays brand ever since that weird Boxycharm related recall of their Jet Lag mask (which was brand-wide and not just a Boxycharm issue) I wanted to give this brand another fair chance. Like most SF products, the packaging is both minimal and beautiful. This serum arrived in a frosted white glass bottle with a simple peach label. I scan the ingredient list and I like what I am seeing. Loads of hero-niacinamide, two forms of super stable vitamin C, peptides, green tea extract, and squalane make this serum really nourishing and beneficial for the skin. It has a creamy sort of scent that is very light and the texture is a light and refreshing gel that absorbs in a snap. While I am still a little wary of this brand (hey, I don't forget things easily!) I did really like this serum.
Second choice item:
Choice 2 – All subscribers will be able to pick one of the following for their Summer Box:
- Draper Games Ruffle Nightie
- OUAI Detox Shampoo + Scalp Massager
- Milly Jewelry Case
- obé 2 Hip Bands + 2 Month obé Membership
- Rae Dunn Guac Salsa Bowls with 2 spoons
- Sonix Bluetooth Speaker
- Tarte Drink of H20 Moisturizer
- Business & Pleasure Soft Cooler
My Pick:
Tarte Drink of H20 Moisturizer, 1.7 fl oz – Retail Value $39.00
This is one of those products that feels absolutely amazing as long as you don't apply too much of it. Too much means a slightly offputting tacky finish, so go light with this one. My other immediate thought is that this is an ideal summer moisturizer because of the fun jelly texture and how cooling and calming it feels if you keep it in the fridge. I didn't find the ingredient list particularly ground-breaking, but, really, not everything has to be exciting. The big callouts for me are squalane, hyaluronic acid, and phospholipids, all of which mean lots of moisturizing for the skin. I will say that there is coconut oil inside this tub, but it is pretty far down the ingredient list. Just something to be aware of if it has caused congestions or breakouts for you in the past. I find the scent of this stuff to be a little odd and in my imagination, it lands somewhere between fresh water and a clean kitchen. I haven't figured out of that is good or bad, but regardless it doesn't bother me enough to not use this fun gel.
Third choice item:
Choice 3 – All subscribers will be able to pick one of the following for their Summer Box:
- Corkcicle 12oz Wine Tumbler with Silicone Straw
- Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40
- Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo
- AG Hair ReL Coil Curl Activator
- Poolside Water Resistant Pouch
- BaubleBar Build Your Own Bracelet Kit
- MALIN+GOETZ Vitamin E Face Moisturizer
- Nectar Blue Light Blocking Glasses - Brown Tortoise Round Eye
My Pick:
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo, 4 oz - Retail Value $26.00
Ok, so I totally could have picked that MALIN+GOETZ Vitamin E Face Moisturizer but I don't particularly love it and I actually really needed more dry shampoo. This still counts as beauty, right? I have yet to find many people who don't like the Living Proof brand. It's easy to use, good looking, works well in hair, and smells great! Their dry shampoo is one that I particularly enjoy right after the gym because it zaps away any icky sweat and oil if I can't get to a shower right away. This one is going straight into my gym bag.
Fourth choice item:
- Scentuals Vitamin C Serum
- Ciaté London Watermelon Dewy Setting Spray
- African Botanics Gold Shimmer Oil
- TF Publishing Co. Brain Teasers + Activity Book Bundle
My Pick:
Scentuals Vitamin C Serum, 2 fl oz - Retail Value $38.00
OK, this is the second C product I picked this month. In my defense, I am currently obsessed with vitamin C, I picked the African Botanics oil in my beach-themed review, and I knew I probably wouldn't like that watermelon setting spray from Ciaté for numerous reasons. This vitamin C serum used ascorbic acid as its C source, and while this stuff is highly potent, it is also incredibly unstable unless it is used in a water-free formula or unless the mix is at a certain pH balance. Since the first ingredient in this bottle is water, I am wondering if pH balance was more of a focus. As much as I know about this sort of stuff, formulations are super complex and I learn more and more each day but I am often still mystified. Does the volcanic ash have something to do with the pH? If you have input I would love to hear more because I am a little out of my depth.
Anyway, using receiving this and the Summer Fridays C serum together made it pretty apparent that I prefer the SF one, though I still think this is a very easy and nice formula too. I just tend to always default to stabilized C options. If you want to protect this one, even more, stash it in your fridge. The cool temps and lack of light will keep it potent even longer.
Fifth choice item:
Choice 5 – Annual subscribers will be able to pick one of the following for their Summer Box.
- Mented Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick (Peachy Keen, Blood Orange, or Blacker the Berry)
- Mine Tan Body Skin Moisturizing Recovery After Sun Gel
- SOAR Selfie Light Ring
- dr. Brandt Skincare Pores No More Purifying Cleanser
- Flight Mode High Altitude Hydration Mask
- To The Market Melamine Printed Tray
- eparé Cutting Board Set of 4
(Annual subscribers get to pick their item. Seasonal subscribers will be surprised.)
My Pick:
dr. Brandt Skincare Pores No More Purifying Cleanser, 3.5 fl oz - Retail Value $36.00
While I don't have particularly congested skin (other than some hormonal zits and maskne) whenever I do I prefer to reach for a cleanser that has salicylic acid, like this one! It gives me a nice clean-pores feeling without stripping my skin. In addition to salicylic acid, it also has clarifying tea tree oil and calming willow bark, and antioxidants from rosemary leaf. It has a medicinal scent (mostly due to the tea tree) and a thicker gel texture that lathers up nicely and with minimal product. I actually really liked it when followed by an oil cleanser in a double cleanse.
Sixth Choice Item(s):
Customization Choice 6 – Annual subscribers will be able to pick from 1, 2, or 3-item bundles:

OR
- LashesMD Eyelash Conditioner
- Murad Rapid Collagen Infusion
- Ole Henriksen PHAT Glow Facial Mask
- Verso Botanicals Super Eye Serum
I picked:
Murad Rapid Collagen Infusion, fl oz - Retail Value $79.00
I was pretty excited to select this as my final product because as someone in her mid-30s words like "collagen" and "infusion" are especially appealing to me. Murad is also one of those brands with a pretty great reputation and consistently solid formulas. The ingredient list here is pretty awesome! Really, loads of stuff that would make this a very long paragraph, but here are the big call-outs for me: collagen, kelp, honey, peptides, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, lactic acid, and vitamin C. And, more! It has a nice clean scent and though the cream is a little thicker, it actually feels light on my face. Because the hydrating and plumping effects work pretty quickly after application, I really enjoy using this in the daytime under my SPF and saving my heavier oils and creams for the evening. You can totally use this both day and night as a light moisturizer or a step before a heavy cream.
Verdict: The abundance of beauty items in this season's FabFitFun choices make it easy to build yourself a total beauty box if you want, and a darn good one at that! There were even more options than the ones I chose here so if you don't feel like doubling up on vitamin C or you prefer eye creams or maybe a mask, you can totally do that! I am really impressed with some of the brands chosen and felt like my selections formed a really fun beauty box with a great value too.
