Look Fantastic Beauty Revival Box Review
Here is the info sheet for the box.
Origins Mega-Mushroom Treatment Lotion, 200 ml - Retail Value $36.00
Even though this product has the word lotion in the name, it’s actually a toner- and one I have a lot of nostalgia for. This is one of the first products I really loved when I got into skincare almost ten years ago and was looking for products to help with my angry sensitive skin. The smell is slightly herbal (and one that I find comforting), and the key ingredients are reishi, fermented chaga & coprinus mushrooms. Those mushrooms are paired with sea buckthorn oil and lactobacillus probiotics, and those ingredients work synergistically to keep your skin barrier healthy and add a boost of hydration. Those with sensitive skin should find this soothing, and it’s a great base to layer your serums on top of. Getting a full-size bottle of this feels like a real treat, and it’s the star of the box for me.
E-Cooking Body Lotion, 300ml - Retail Value $36.49 ( €30.00)
I am always happy to see a body lotion from a new brand, and this one smelled really nice with notes of jasmine, grape, and orange flower. I like the concept behind this brand- they create body care products with the same ingredients you’d get from facials, so inside this lotion you’ll find niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. That’s paired with shea butter, argan oil, aloe vera, and glycerin, and it was really hydrating to my skin without being heavy. I appreciate the ease of the pump top, and this would be a great lotion for these warm summer months because it didn’t feel greasy on my skin.
Lazartigue Fortify Shampoo, 50ml - Estimated Value $6.40 (buy the 250 ml version for $32.00)
I am pretty picky with shampoos, but this one was really nice. It’s formulated with guarana and Ricinus (the plant castor oil comes from) to strengthen thinning hair and help with hair density. I’ve noticed some thinner patches along my hairline that have been bothering me, so this is a shampoo I want to keep using to see if I see results. After one use, I was really pleased it didn’t weigh down my hair, and I was incredibly pleased it didn’t dry out my hair- that’s enough to get me to use it again since most shampoos do!
Balance Me Radiance Oil, 30 ml - Retail Value $43.00
My dry skin loves a facial oil, and this one is a blend of multiple botanical oils that were lovely on my skin. Even though this has more than 10 different oils like rosehip, camellia, jojoba, and kukui nut, it didn’t feel heavy on my skin and absorbed pretty quickly. I like to use facial oils as the last step in my evening routine, but sometimes if my skin is feeling extra sensitive I’ll mix a drop or two into my morning moisturizer.
REN Clean Skincare Glycol Lactic Radiance Mask, 15ml - Estimated Value $17.40 (buy the 50 ml version for $58.00)
I’m a big fan of Ren Skincare products. This mask has an acid blend of glycolic, lactic, citric, and tartaric acids, and those chemical exfoliants are paired with hydrating ingredients like glycerin, grape seed oil, and black currant seed oil. I was cautious about how my sensitive skin would react with all of those exfoliants, but I had no issues. This is still a mask I would only use once a week or once every two weeks because it’s a potent mask, but my skin felt smoother after I used this and looked like it had a touch of glow.
Kerastase Elixir Ultime Rose Hair Oil, 50ml- Estimated Value $25.39 (buy the 100 ml version for £35.90)
As I’ve gotten older, I've appreciated rose scents more, and this one is really lovely. It’s a perfumey floral rose that feels like a luxurious treat without being overbearing. The oil itself is on the thicker side, and it did help to smooth out my hair and add a shine. Two pumps of this wasn’t too heavy in my thick hair, but those with more fine hair may need to use this very sparingly.
The Verdict: This was a really lovely box- I thought all of the products were great. I especially appreciate that all of the products I loved the most were full-size, too! The Origins Mega-Mushroom toner was my favorite item in the box, but I liked everything in the box which feels like another win. Value-wise, everything adds up to $164.68, which is more than three times the $55 cost of the box and over the promised value of $147.
