What fall trends are you predicting for this season?
Maggie Mee: Leather and faux leather will be a key ingredient to fall style, whether in neutrals or even with pops of colors. You can add faux leather across your wardrobe – outerwear, pants, skirts, dresses and even tops. For those who love a little texture, look for croc, vinyl, distressed, and embossed faux leather finishes.
You’ll also see blouses and soft dresses with romantic prints and silhouettes that will take you from your fall occasions into holiday party season. For a more casual look, try a shacket with straight leg denim. Finally, knitwear is back - as always for cooler temps - with a more form fitting silhouette and cut-out details. Pair your knits of all weights with denim, leather pants, and dresses.
What are some ways we can transition summer pieces into our fall wardrobe?
Maggie: When transitioning between seasons, don’t restrict yourself to basics. Statement pieces can be surprisingly versatile with some creative styling tips. Add a jacket and boots to take your summer dress into fall. I love layering a long sleeve top or tee under a summery dress.
Feel empowered to bring your boots out at the end of summer and pair with jeans, a sleek tank, and a blazer to balance the weight. Going into cooler fall days, pair your chunky boots with a frilly dress or even your favorite pair of light-wash straight leg denim.
