Hoppy Friday! I've gotten the hang of Haverdash, and how to handle my rentals and returns, but I had a huge fright earlier in the week when I thought I accidentally sent two items to Armoire. So, after frantically searching through my place and checking my rentals closet (I leave everything there, so I don't get them confused with my stuff), I contacted Armoire and sent them pics of the Express top and Nicole Miller skirt, and they didn't see them, but said they'd keep an eye out and let me know.
A week later as I was cleaning my place for my sister's visit, I found both pieces smashed to the side of the bed and dangling on the floor. That's also when I realized the dust bunnies under my bed were bigger than Mr. HGL and it's time for a serious cleaning!
The reason I thought I sent them items to Armoire is that I accidentally sent them my VS strapless bra about a month ago and had to buy a new one. Well, thankfully Haverdash's clothes were recovered so they don't hate me. PHEW! This will be a shorter week because I receive three items at a time.
WHAT I'M WEARING THIS WEEK: Haverdash
Welcome back to What I'm Wearing This Week — Haverdash where you can rent and wear designer items by names you know and love, and up-and-coming designers too!
For the newbies to WIWTW, every Friday I’ll take you on a trip through my life, where I’m going, what’s missing in my closet, my current obsessions, what I’m excited to try, and maybe even buy. Well, that's if the price is right!
For sizing reference, I am 5'11", weigh 140 pounds, and have a 33" inseam.
Haverdash is a clothing rental service that gives members unlimited style options for one flat fee. Powered by CaaStle, the leading B2B rental technology and logistics company in the U.S.
This is a review of their plan that lets you rent 3 pieces at a time for $59 a month. For an extra $5 per box, if you use the Dart feature, you can choose the items and speed up shipping too.
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)
WHAT I RECEIVED
All three items by Vince, Express, and Nicole Miller arrived fresh from the dry cleaner and neatly packed inside a cardboard box.
THE GOODS
Vince Knit V-Neck Dress
About the Designer: Since their founding in 2002, Vince has been focused on timeless designs with California-inspired ease.
The enduring wearability of each piece attracted a growing affinity for our womenswear — so in 2007, they introduced men’s, reflecting the same quality and quiet sophistication that people came to us for season after season.
Since then, their collections have continued to grow, with women’s and men’s ready-to-wear complemented by shoes, handbags, home goods, and more, each rendered in lasting materials carefully selected by their design team — from luxuriously soft, signature Plush Cashmere to buttery leather and incandescent silks.
Every piece is finished with thoughtful, distinctive details, resulting in wardrobe staples that endure the test of time, trends, and taste.
Why I rented it: It looked cozy and super versatile (and it was)!
How I styled it: I tore through my closet to see what I could pair with this dress and found a few options like my B-Low the Belt Patent Leather Belt, Kat Maconie Sock Boots, and a pair of earrings and necklace by Rocksbox Redefined. I also went to the silver side and whipped out a Maje Studded Leather Jacket, Rag & Bone Studded Ankle Boots, a vintage belt, a pair of earrings from & Other Stories, and carried the Balenciaga City Clutch.
Size and fit: I ordered a small because the medium was not available and I'm glad I did because it runs a little large. This V-neck dress still slid off my shoulders a little, but no big deal. It's very soft and almost feels like a cashmere blend, despite being made of everything else. It's a ribbed knit pullover design with long sleeves, a fitted body, and a midi-length hem.
Condition: Excellent. Almost like new.
Honest review: Since the resale price was only $50 and it's a great winter dress that goes with just about everything, I debated making it mine, but changed my mind at the last minute. I can always rent it again!

Why I rented it: I thought the top was cute and would look good with the skirt, and I totally forgot about Express!
How I styled it: When I rented these two pieces, I thought about wearing them together to the office, but the top was too cropped, and the skirt's waist was too stretched out to make it work. I also paired it with Charlotte Olympia Suede Pumps. I also tried the top with Alice + Olivia Flares, Tecova Ostrich Cowboy Boots, and a studded leather jacket.
Size and fit: I got a medium in both the skirt and top, and the top was snug, while the skirt was a bit stretched out.
Condition: The top was in great shape, but the skirt looked like it had been worn dozens of times.
Honest review: The top was a little too small and cropped on me and the skirt was quite worn and stretched out in the waist.
DID THEY DELIVER?
- What items were most helpful and versatile to own this week to ensure I got the most out of my rental and completed the look I craved? I got a ton of wear out of the Vince dress and didn't want to send it back!
- Did they meet or exceed expectations? Exceed.
- What’s the return process like? Simple! Just place your items in the pre-paid garment bag and drop it off at one of your nearest USPS.
FINAL THOUGHTS
So, you may be wondering if Mr. HGL is improving, and he's not. We went back to the vet the other day and she said if the next round of medication and shots don't work, I need to consider putting him down. He's struggling to breathe and he's not eating much because it's so uncomfortable. He's hunched over half the time in pain and I'm absolutely beside myself. I feel like a horrible person for putting him through all these medications, treatments, and shots to keep him alive, but the other option is just as cruel. It's really difficult! Next week I'll give you a rundown of all the steps we're taking to keep him alive, and hopefully I'll have better news too. Until then, here's a pic of him in his nebulizer treatment and asleep at the window.
And as you know, I just started a new job, and while they're understanding, I cannot be the problem child a little over a month in because I've got pet drama, family drama, and car drama too. I was supposed to take my dad to Hopkins the other day for outpatient surgery, but my car had other plans, so they had to reschedule the procedure. I feel like I'm drowning, and it's just a bunny. I don't know how parents do it and y'all keep it together so well.
But my clothing rentals are a very welcomed distraction... at least they give me something to look forward to every week.
VALUE BREAKDOWN: You can up to get 9 items a month for $59/month. I don't know the total value because they don't show the retail price versus the resale price.
