How SnackCrate Works
Before you receive your first subscription box from SnackCrate, you’ll need to answer a few questions on their website, which takes 2 minutes or less. Basically, you’ll answer questions like “Which country do you want to try?” and “Select your favorite flavor of snacks (chocolatey and sweet, salty and savory, or mixed”.
Once you’ve answered the questions, you’ll then choose between 3 sizes for your snack subscription box: mini, original, or family size. Each snack box contains between 5-6, 10-12, and 18-20 snacks respectively.
Following this, you can then choose from among 4 options as to which box you want to try out first. This is the only time you’ll be given a choice as to the type of box you want to try and all future boxes will be chosen for you.
In addition to receiving snacks, each snack subscription box contains a booklet with fun facts, games, and a music playlist for that month’s country along with an Adventure Ticket (or several, depending on which box your purchase) that enters you in for a chance to win a trip to another country.
After purchasing your first box, you’ll then be automatically subscribed to SnackCrate and will receive a different snack box each and every month. Charges recur on the 5th of each month and your snack will be delivered sometime throughout the month after the 5th.
If you decide you want to skip an upcoming month, all you have to do is log in to your online account page and adjust your account settings prior to the 5th of the month. If for any reason you run into trouble, you can always reach customer service by email for help. Same thing goes for cancellations as well.

What Else You Should Know About SnackCrate
SnackCrate is focussed on prioritizing flavor and unique experiences for its customers. That said, it’s not a snack subscription service that’s focussed on healthy or diet-friendly foods, rather it’s centered more on indulgence and sometimes eccentric tastes. If you aren’t worried about being diet-conscious and want to have fun trying out new snacks, then SnackCrate is a wonderful subscription box to try.
Is SnackCrate Worth It?
Depending on the size of the snack box you select, prices for each snack range from around $2.00-$2.50 which is quite comparable to the price of most snacks that you would purchase at a convenience store. Considering that these snacks are relatively well-priced and some are rare or extremely difficult to find in most stores, we believe SnackCrate is worth a try, especially in regards to the overall experience and novelty.
How SnackCrate Compares to Other Top Snack Subscriptions
SnackCrate VS Universal Yums: Similar to SnackCrate, Universal Yums is a monthly snack subscription box that delivers a variety of international snacks from all around the world and each box is curated for a specific country. It also offers 3 main sizes for boxes that include 5-7, 10-12, and 18-20 snacks, each for $17, $28, and $42 per month respectively. While the small and medium boxes offered by Universal Yums are more expensive than SnackCrate, its large snack box is actually a little bit cheaper, and you usually have a choice about which country your box is themed around. If you only want to try a few snacks per month and want to cut down on costs, then SnackCrate may be the better option for you. However, if you know you want to try a lot of different snacks each month and have a choice in your snacks, then we think Universal Yums is the way to go.
SnackCrate VS Caroo: Caroo, formerly SnackNation, is a snack subscription service that specializes in better-for-you snacks that are designed to be shared in office spaces or used as corporate gifts. In general, several of tts subscription boxes are more expensive than SnackCrate but can be hand-picked and there are numerous options for snack box themes, like Thankful Box, Holiday Box, or Sips + Snacks Box. However, there’s also the option to choose smaller size snack boxes that contain 8 or 15 snacks and Caroo’s prices range all the way from $20.95 to $100.95 depending on if you select a standard snack box or a deluxe gift box. Caroo is the best subscription to use as a gift due to its healthier and more prestigious snacks, but SnackCrate is better for people who want a monthly surprise and are more concerned with saving money.
SnackCrate VS Try The World: Try The World is a monthly snack and food subscription box that offers 2 options for its subscription boxes: Countries and Snacks.
